The trophy dash involed 4 cars for a 4-lap shoot out. The #99 started in 2nd position and gained the lead in lap 3 to win the dash!
The first main event was full of action. The start was inverted by 4 which put the 99 in 3rd. A wreck on lap 1 on the back stretch brought out the red flag. Two of the 14 late models had to leave the track with lots of damage. With many cautions and restarts the #99 worked his way up through the pack to take the lead by lap 15 of the 30 lap main event. Borges kept the lead and despite several more cautions and restarts went on the WIN his 4th race of the season!
The second main event was a little frustrating for many of the drivers with an inverted start of 6. #99 started 6th behind the cars who placed 2nd through 6th in the first main event. It became apparant that one of the cars was leaking fluid and the pack went single file to keep from spinning out in the fluid. This made it challenging to pass in the 1st eight laps. In lap 16, Borges had worked his way up to 3rd place right after the #8 car was spun out by another car in the same lap. There was controversy when only the #8 was sent to the back for the restart and not the car that spun him out. By the time #99 got passed the car he had been working to pass for several laps there wasn't time to challenge the 1st and 2nd place cars for the lead and Borges gladly took a 3rd place finish!
